New In Beauty: Baked Browns & Marvelous Mauves (Dose of Colors Review)

Dose of Colors Review Marvelous Mauves and Baked Browns

Something has been brewing over at Dose Of Colors for the past 8 months and they have finally released what it was. Two new, must have, eye shadow palettes! They are complete opposite palettes but  each has the same concept. Being that you can take one palette with you when you travel and it contains all your essentials. Each palette has 5 brand new shades that can be used to create any look. Are they worth it? Let’s find out.Dose of Colors Review Marvelous Mauves and Baked Browns
The Baked Browns palette contains, as you guessed it, brown toned shades. However, don’t confuse the shadows with just a palette full of browns. When I say brown toned, I mean they have the warm red’s and burgundy shadows. It’s got your all the shadows you need for a smokey eye from beginning to end. So you could go the whole nine yards and do a complete smokey eye using all 5 shadows, or you can do a wash of one of the shades all over the lid. I find myself gravitating to this palette every single day. It’s just the perfect neutral shades for an every day makeup look. Dose of Colors Review Marvelous Mauves and Baked Browns

The Marvelous Mauve’s is not your typical every day use type of palette. At least not for me. I don’t use purple toned shadows every day when I do my makeup but I love this palette just as much as the browns. The purples are so very pigmented that even if you have a deeper skin tone the shades will still show up on you. These shadows would be really great on anyone who has green or brown eye colors. Purples normally bring out those green tones in your eyes but with the pigment in these shades I find those even with darker brown eyes are able to stand out. This palette has the same idea as the browns in the way that you can create a fire smokey eye.

With these palettes I find the best way to use them is to LIGHTLY dip your brush into the pan. They are so pigmented, and with that pigment, comes some kick up.  So if you stab your brush into your pan you are going to end up with shadow all over your face. You’d also be wasting tons of shadow. So the more light handed the better. They are so bendable and buttery that if you mess up and use to much of a dark shade, you can easily fix it with your blending brush.  Each palette comes with a tiny double sided brush. It’s so small that it makes it easy to use for a cut crease or to smoke out your lower lash line. Dose of Colors Review Marvelous Mauves and Baked Browns

One of the highlights of this palette are what they are free of. They are Cruelty Free, Talc Free, and Paraben Free. Cruelty free means they are  products never tested on animals, and Talc is actually a toxic mineral that can be linked to tumors in the ovaries and lungs of cancer victims. Similarly, products with Paraben have been linked to breast tumors as well.

Overall I give this palette two
thumbs up. I love when I find a product that I want to use every single day. The price point on each is just $32 which is a very reasonable price! So let me know if you’ve tried them and what you think in the comments down below! Don’t forget to subscribe and share!
