I had the urge to use my lunch break to drive on over to Ulta the other day. Less of an urge and more like I knew there was something calling my name, I just didn’t know what was. Recently L’oreal Paris came out with a Cushion foundation that I had NO passion to try. So when I saw the IT cosmetics compact foundation floating around the beauty community I didn’t think twice. However, as I walked into Ulta they had it all nice and pretty sitting at the very front. The first thing I noticed was there was only one shade left. Could it be that good? So I walked my happy Ass on over and started playing around with the testers. Guess what the only shade left was? You were wrong, It was MY shade! Next thing you know I’m at the counter. It promises Anti-Aging Skin care which is probably the reason I bought it. Anything said to help my skin is something I want to try. So, let’s get into this It cosmetics Confidence in a compact review!
It’s a strange concept to have a liquid foundation in a compact. It’s hard for me to comprehend. So I’ll give you my best explanation to hopefully give you a good visual. The packaging is very secure, which makes me feel better about having it in my makeup bag when I travel. It’s sleek and small enough that if you need to bring it with you in your purse you definitely can. It comes with a little sponge but you all know what i’m going to do with it. Toss it in the trash! I never understand why include those with the products. They don’t work and seem insignificant to me.
On to the product itself. When I see that a foundation has SPF 50+ I am a little hesitant to try. The reason behind that is USUALLY if a product contains a ton of SPF it makes the product more oily and smell awful! I smell everything, I can smell if someone has perfume on in the room next to me. So I always smell every product just because. This product smells AMAZING! It smells so refreshing and just delightful. I have combination skin so when I have something that causes more oil on my face I look like a giant butter ball but only on part of my face. So, I can’t imagine somebody who has oily skin using a product like that. However, the way this product glides on without dripping on my face is actually amazing. It’s very cool going on my face, temperature wise. It’s very full coverage but blendable. They suggest you buy the brush that goes with it, but My Ulta was out of them So I used a Morphe M439 (Deluxe buffer) brush to dab the product on my face. You could also use a beauty blender if you want a medium finish.
On my actual skin the product feels super light weight but Hydrating. I didn’t even set the foundation to test out it’s wearability. On Saturday I had a family get together at a park where the sun was out and shining. What better time to test out the SPF then to use all day in the bright sunny sunshine rays! So I had the product on for about 8 hours, and let me tell you through all the sweat and water on my face it did not budge. It stayed in place the entire day! At the end of the night when I removed my makeup my face was not even a tad tanner. My body was, but my face was in fact protected!
I’m in love with this foundation. I have recommended it to everyone and I have found myself grabbing it every day! It’s perfect for a day at the lake or going to the office. It’s very wearable and not Cakey at all. Have you tried this foundation yet? Let me know in the comments down below if you are into it as much as I am. Don’t forget to subscribe!
