Summer is upon us. Which means for those of us who live here in Texas, we’re sweating our asses off just to walk in the house. It’s hard to want to put makeup on when you know in five minutes it’s just going to melt off your face and creep into your pores. Not to mention if you want to go swimming and have to worry about not getting your face wet. Don’t worry, I’ve come prepared. I have made a list of a few of my favorite things that I find work best for this heat. I’m going to go in order of how I apply my makeup that way it makes it easier for you to follow! Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions! These are my Summer Proof Makeup products.
First on my list is the Tarte Rainforest of The Sea Water Foundation. The SPF in this one is 15 which is really great for all day protection. This is a light weight formula that gives you a natural finish. It’s a very nourishing foundation that helps your skin from getting to dry throughout the day. My tip for this foundation is to just apply it with a damp beauty blender and that’s it. I wouldn’t set it with a powder because it might cake up on your face.
Next up we have concealer. Makeup Forever Ultra HD Concealer. This is a very thick concealer so a little will take you a long ways. It’s great if you just need to dab a tad on under your eyes. For a summer proof makeup look I wouldn’t highlight your entire face. Just a little under your eyes to give some dimension. You can even blend it with your finger and you will still have that natural summer finish.
Next up we have brows. The most important makeup item that you need to be waterproof besides mascara. My all time favorite is the Benefit Cosmetics Brow Line. They have a bunch of different products but the Ka-brow is hands down the best. It also won’t go anywhere all day. So if you get splashed by the water don’t worry about your brows coming off.
This is the Tarte Amazonian 12 hr blush. It isn’t as waterproof as I would like but it does stay put during those heat waves. I really like this formula because it doesn’t come out super patchy when you apply. It’s very buildable so you won’t come out looking like a clown. They have a good color selection too so everybody can try it. With this blush, my tip would be to use a Stipling brush. This way it applies the product more naturally and kind of melts in with your foundation.
Last but not least is some highlight. The best things about this product is that it is a liquid. So you can add some to your foundation to give an all over glow or you can just drop a little on your cheekbones. For my Summer Proof makeup looks I use this on my eye lids as a shadow, on the tip of my nose, and my highest points of my cheekbones. So when the sun hits just right you can blind somebody from 10 miles away.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Let me know what you would like to see next. Have you guys used any of these products? Leave me a comment and don’t forget to subscribe!
